Mauricie
The area, in brief
The CCQ groups Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec into a single work region, where the battery sector at the Bécancour industrial park is driving strong growth in construction activity; it estimates labour needs in Mauricie at roughly 900 new workers per year for 2026-2030. Construction accounts for 6.2% of total employment there in 2025, below the 7.0% Quebec average, but the region shows projected population growth of 1.8% between 2024 and 2029 — bucking the 0.3% decline expected for Quebec as a whole.
